Deanmark was the first major settlement on the server, founded just four days after the server began. It is directly east of Spawn Island, on the coast of South Decana. The town was the first public spawn location, and home to many essential player services, before spawn was moved to NewTown and Deanmark became somewhat obsolete and deserted. While serving as the spawn location, Deanmark saw many small builds come and go, and was home to many conflicting styles. In April 2021, a project to redevelop the town in time for the server's 1st Anniversary Party began, and the town saw new life. Most of the landscaping is currently being reworked, and many of the less notable builds are being demolished or rehomed to make way for the new, ordered plan.

History[]

In the early days of the server, when rshuttle1337 and Churrokat travelled west from Spawn Island to Serena Island, and DeanJames8 and MCParradox travelled south to Devil's Island and Baumherzinsel respectively, LTKiinG landed on the shore of South Decana and built a large, cliffside home. A few weeks later, in preparation for the server's public opening, the founders built a spawn compound around the Emperor's Knee Inn, and spawn was officially moved to Deanmark.

A busy town centre soon developed along the beach between the spawn compound and the cliffside house, with many facilities new players would need, such as the community mine, Villager Trading Hall, and Deanmark Station, the oldest stop on the ShuttleMetro network. Right in the heart of the town is the Carillon, a large tower built to serve as a beacon, and from which firework displays can be launched. A small selection of shops could formerly be found in Deanmark, before being moved to the new commercial district in the neighbouring Trinsic, which can be reached on foot, by canal, or on the ShuttleMetro.

There was no defined theme or build style in Deanmark, and mixed in with the homes and facilities were a number of follies and decorations, such as the Carillon Balloons, LTKiinG's bust, the Battleship, the Bee, the Duck, and most notably, Lenny. The town was also the construction site for a steampunk airship, and home to three different inns.

The southwest region of Deanmark is the residential district, which is a lot less built up than the town centre. It is situated in a forest, surrounding a small lake, and is served by its own ShuttleMetro station. There are a number of small homes scattered throughout the forest, many of which sadly remain unfinished.

Many of the functions of Deanmark were made obsolete with the founding of NewTown, which became the main hub for new and longstanding players. In January 2021, the server spawn location was moved to NewTown, and Deanmark saw very little development for months.

In April 2021, in anticipation of the server's 1st Anniversary, rshuttle1337 and MCParradox came together to develop a new master plan for the town's redevelopment into a more cohesive and lively region of the server. Work began on clearing large areas of forest and hills, and the demolition of the few remaining shops made obsolete with the founding of Trinsic. A new park is planned surrounding the Carillon, with a network of upgraded roads spanning from here past many new builds and renovations of existing structures. As the redevelopment continues, many of the abstract decorative elements will be either removed or rehomed to help establish an overall georgian/edwardian architectural style.
